Perched close the picturesque Illawarra Escarpment tucked away west of Dapto with views of Lake Illawarra and only a short 96 kilometre journey to Sydney. Wongawilli is a rural style community with a mixture of residential properties, rural land and new modern style homes. With the newly established Vista Park. Wongawilli is home to 184 residents (as at 2011 ABS Census), this is set to expand over coming years and further land releases. Only 16 kilometres south of the major CBD and some of the best beaches that the South Coast offers.


There are two public High Schools one is located East of Wongawilli. Dapto High School is located on Cleveland Road in Dapto, and Kanahooka High School, located in Kanahooka. There is one major Primary School within a short distance being Dapto Primary School, and many more conveniently located in each suburb of Dapto these include; Hayes Park Primary School, Lakelands Public School and Mount Brown Primary School.
When it comes to Day Care, The little Preschool at Wongawilli is very much in demand for parents in the area, along with other great facilities located in surrounding suburbs these include; Little Peoples Horsley, Goodstart Early Learning Centre, Big Fat Smile and Grandma Rosie’s with many Family Day Cares, there is no lack of childcare facilities available for working family’s needs. There is also plenty of direct bus routes to higher education schools both North and South of Wongawilli.


Dapto Mall is the areas major shopping complex, it is home to a large selection of speciality stores, Big W, Woolworths and Coles, its provides plenty of undercover parking to enjoy a pleasant shopping experience. Along the Princes highway resides Aldi’s, great Cafe’s, bars and restaurants to suit local residents who enjoy eating out or a night of take away convenience.
Horsley Shops make for a short trip if you may have forgotten the milk on the way home or would like to grab the paper to read on a lazy Sunday morning while enjoying the peaceful lifestyle Wongawilli offers. With a popular takeaway store, hairdresser, bakery, butcher and bottle shop, it covers all you need within a couple of minutes drive.


Enjoy a spot of dancing, dining and good laughs at Dapto Leagues which regularly hosts many local, national and international talent on a regular basis, a spot of bowls of Dapto bowling club and Dapto Citizens Club, or a night out at the Dapto Old pub or Dandaloo Hotel, which all cater for functions and sporting events. On a Thursday night, Dapto showground is the place to be for the famous “Dapto Dogs” and is also the location for events such as the annual monster trucks tour, Dapto Agricultural show and many more yearly calendar events. If you prefer a slower pace of entertainment, then Wongawilli Colonial Dance Club holds Old Time Dancing every Wednesday night and events throughout the year if you enjoy a great experience of historical past time. If you love Hiking, Bush walking, cycling, motorbike riding or horse riding then Wongawilli is the place to live. 


Bus routes are accessible from Shone Avenue near Wongawilli, whether the commute is North, East or South, having multiple bus stops along Horsley Drive Road, through to Dapto CBD.
Freeway access is an easy few minutes’ drive wherever you may location within the suburb of Wongawilli, making it an easy commute to work via car, or leave your car parked at the station car park in Dapto and catch the train to Sydney, which is roughly an hour and a half train trip, or plan a day out with the kids down to Kiama, Berry or Bomaderry, which takes the same amount of time to drive as it does to catch the train. Kembla Grange Station is only a 10 minute trip for another option to jump on the train and commute to your destination.
For students who study at the local TAFE or renown Wollongong University, it is a quick 15 trip up the M1 freeway from Wongawilli.
