Situated between the beautiful Illawarra Escarpment and the pristine Lake Illawarra, Horsley is a suburb of Wollongong and positioned West between Wollongong and Shellharbour, and only a short 96 kilometre journey to Sydney. There are two public High Schools located North and East of Dapto and multiple Primary schools located conveniently in each suburb of Dapto with Dapto Primary, Hayes Park Primary School, Lakelands Public School, Mount Brown Primary School and Koonawarra Public School. Local childcare facilities include Little Peoples Horsley, Sierra Village Early Learning Centre, Goodstart Early Learning Centre, Big Fat Smile, Grandma Rosie’s and Dapto Cuddles Child Care, with many family day cares there is no lack of childcare facilities available for working family’s needs. There is also plenty of direct bus routes to higher education schools both North and South of Horsley.

 

Shopping
With Dapto Mall we have a large selection of speciality stores and is also home to Big W, Woolworths and Coles, its provides plenty of undercover parking to enjoy a pleasant shopping experience. Along the Princes highway resides Aldi’s, great Cafe’s, bars and restaurants to suit local residents who enjoy eating out or a night of take away convenience. Horsley Local shops is conveniently located if you are looking for a great hairdresser,

Enjoy a spot of dancing, dining and good laughs at Dapto Leagues which regularly hosts many local, national and international talent on a regular basis, a spot of bowls of Dapto bowling club and Dapto Citizens Club, or a night out at the Dapto Old pub or Dandaloo Hotel, which all cater for functions and sporting events. On a Thursday night, Dapto showground is the place to be for the famous “Dapto Dogs” and is also the location for events such as the annual monster trucks tour, Dapto Agricultural show and many more yearly calendar events. Horsley is home to multiple sporting fields and leisure amenities, if you enjoy hiking, playing sport or watching the kids play!

 

Transport
Bus routes are accessible all around Horsley, whether the commute is North, East or South, having 2 major bus stops along Bong Bong Road and just outside Horsley Shopping complex, and multiple pick up or drop off stops along the way, including Mallon Avenue in Brooks Reach, Horsley Park Drive and Shone Avenue.
Freeway access is an easy few minutes’ drive wherever you may location within the suburb of Horsley, making it an easy commute to work via car, or leave your car at home or at the station car park and catch the train to Sydney, which is roughly an hour and a half train trip, or plan a day out with the kids down to beautiful Kiama, Berry or Bomaderry, which takes on average the same amount of time to drive as it does to catch the train.
For students who study at the local TAFE or renown Wollongong University, it is a quick 15 trip up the M1 freeway from Horsley.
